The location made getting around easy, with cafés, a supermarket, and a pharmacy close by, and the city centre about a 15-minute walk away. Our room was clean and tidy, and the cleaning had been thorough. We liked that the headboard wasn’t upholstered. The colours in the decor are a little unusual, though that’s down to taste. There was a complimentary espresso machine and bottled water too. The owner was kind and punctual, welcoming us right on time as arranged. Since the rooms are in a residential building, he came down to let us in. We enjoyed our stay at Mirabilia Golden in Bologna, though the price felt high for what was provided. We were also surprised by an extra €40 city tax on arrival, as it wasn’t clearly explained on Booking.com or the property website. It would help to make that fee clearer for future guests.

I don’t think the current rating is fair. The rooms were clean and nice, and the free coffee and water were a welcome extra. It’s well located and a pleasant place for a few days.

There was mould on the walls, bedbugs, and a filthy shower that wouldn’t drain. This is a health hazard. Avoid it at all costs.

The owner was kind and professional, which is why I’ve given the place four stars. To fully earn that rating, though, it needs at least one more power outlet for the kettle. We had to hold it while plugging it into the only outlet in the bathroom.
