The only night we stayed there, we had to sleep fully dressed and hope it would pass quickly. We would probably have been more comfortable at the station. “Mrs.” Rosa then seemed to vanish. The toilet didn’t flush, so we had to use a basin. The air conditioner was broken, and there wasn’t a single blanket, despite what she’d told us. She said towels would come later because the ones she had were returned for not being clean enough. They never showed up. There was no soap or toilet paper either, and the apartment was very dirty. This run-down place is listed on the main booking platforms as “Darò apartments.” It may look nice there, but in reality it’s the opposite.

The surrounding garden was an open-air dump, and the apartment was full of mosquitoes and bedbugs. I filed a complaint on Booking.com right away, though I doubt it will lead anywhere. I’ve included photos to show what the experience was like, and I don’t consider the matter over. This was the worst night of my life. I booked through Booking as usual, trusting it to be a guarantee, but apparently scammers can be listed there too. The place is also called Darò Apartments on Booking, and I strongly recommend avoiding it. The building is old, dirty, dilapidated, and close to falling apart. We never met the host, Davide, who said he was away on business. His sister Rosa was there to “welcome” us, but the whole situation was awful. We were meant to get toilet paper, toiletries, and towels at check-in, but none arrived. Rosa didn’t return my calls or WhatsApp messages. We couldn’t shower. The shower was partly broken, with a hole beneath the ceiling, and we had nothing to dry ourselves with. The toilet wouldn’t flush, so we filled a basin with water. There were no blankets either, despite what Rosa had said, so we slept in our jackets, freezing and waiting for the night to end.

I came twice with my family, and both stays were a nightmare. The apartment was dirty and nearly everything was broken, from the shower to the toilet. There were no towels at first. After we kept insisting, they finally arrived. The owners were rude, especially Mrs. Rosa, who was so unpleasant. I don’t know how a place like this is still operating. They can’t manage it at all. Never again.

A nightmare of a place. The owner is incredibly arrogant and rude, and I can’t understand how she still runs such an unsuitable accommodation.
