Getting to the center takes about 35-45 minutes on bus 25, while a taxi to the airport is only around 10 minutes. That makes the hotel handy for a short stopover, though I wouldn’t choose it for more than two nights, especially when it’s cold or if you need a quiet rest. Many of the staff were friendly, but the hotel has a lot of noise issues. The rooms are smaller than the website makes them seem, and the advertised sound insulation either doesn’t work or isn’t there. Doors need to be slammed to shut, and you can hear footsteps, conversations, and loud knocks from other rooms. Some rooms connect through double doors, which let through nearly all the sound, along with light and even smoke. We had smoke come in when neighbors smoked in their bathroom. The AC thermostat shuts off on its own and often takes a long time to come back on, so our room was cold in the mornings. Housekeeping seemed short-staffed, and room service was delayed. Breakfast had a standard international buffet with plenty of options, but the quality was disappointing next to typical Italian food and breakfast, and the coffee tasted quite bland.

We arrived in Bologna for Silvester and had a perfect stay. The hotel is a little outside the center, but it’s a 15-minute walk into town, or you can catch the bus right around the corner. Our room was spacious, comfortable, modern, and chic, and the welcome was really warm. The staff even booked us dinner for Silvester Night, which was great, and there was a lovely late breakfast or brunch the next morning. They looked after everything throughout our stay. A big thank you to the team, you made our time in Bologna. See you next time!

Savhotel Fiera Bologna is a comfortable, dependable hotel, especially handy for business trips to BolognaFiere, about a 10-minute walk away. Check the entrance before setting off, though. On our first day we walked around the whole complex and lost about an hour because we needed Piazza della Costituzione 3, not Viale della Fiera 20, which the exhibition website listed. The historic center is walkable too, about 25 minutes to Giardino della Montagnola, where the old town starts. Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast had a good range. There’s also a restaurant in the hotel, handy for dinner, although better options are within walking distance nearby.

The staff were lovely and tried hard to help, but the hotel’s third-party internet provider meant they couldn’t fix the underlying Wi-Fi problems. The connection was often slow or unreliable and couldn’t handle business needs like VPNs. Some Apple domains were blocked too, so my devices couldn’t sync or back up to the cloud for days while I was at the hotel. I really enjoyed the stay otherwise, but wouldn’t have booked if I’d known. It’s fine for an unplugged vacation, but not for digital nomads, remote workers, or anyone who needs steady internet.

We’d happily stay here again. The room was clean, a good size, and well equipped, and the staff were courteous. They let us check in a little early after we’d been traveling all day. The restaurant and room service food was exceptional, and plenty of restaurants and activities were an easy walk away. Grazie!
