Station Loft

The owner was friendly enough and offered suggestions for places to eat and visit. But the rooms aren't soundproof at all. At 2am the woman next door had a long phone call, and I could hear the whole conversation.

The host was friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean.

Finding the place was a struggle from the start because the Google Maps pin is wrong. The hotel, or whatever it should be called, is at the other end of the street, and we only found the bell by chance after hearing someone arrive and calling out. We were 15 minutes early, and were treated rudely for it. The receptionist was unfriendly, refused cash because it was inconvenient, and came across as rude and unhelpful. We later learned that after 8 PM you have to pay cash for someone to wait for you. The lounge is really an office, and everyone leaves at 8 PM. The room looked clean and had expensive materials, but that felt like a pointless expense given how inconvenient things were. The shower stall had soap and a shampoo cap that we hadn't opened. It was cold when we checked in, and the radiators took at least three hours to warm it up. The only windows are in the roof, controlled by a remote. They close only when they feel like it, so the room gets stuffy at night. Sound carries terribly between rooms, and you can hear neighbors as if they were family. I assume the smoking and relaxation area has no roof, which isn't convenient when it rains.

The place looks beautiful, from the entrance and living room to the bedrooms and bathrooms, but the setup and lack of services made our stay disappointing. What appears to be a living room is actually the reception area, and the kitchen is used as an office, so guests can't use it. They clean before and after a stay, but not during it, and there's no option for guests to clean themselves. That might be fine for a couple of nights, but we stayed five days and wanted proper cleaning. You also have to pay extra to change towels. For the cost of a bed and breakfast, I expected better. With another €50, I'd choose a hotel that includes cleaning, towel changes, and breakfast.
