The room was a good size, and I felt safe overall, but I wouldn't recommend Villa Savioli to a friend. My husband and I spent three nights here on our honeymoon, and the bed was the most uncomfortable I've slept in since summer camp. The pillows were completely flat, and I woke up with a headache both mornings. The towels smelled of cigarette smoke, and there wasn't real hot water, so I couldn't take the hot shower I wanted after waking with those headaches. We had said we'd arrive very late, but the check-in instructions came only 15 minutes before we got there. We didn't see them because our phone hadn't connected to service in Italy yet. Nothing was horrible, but if we'd stayed longer, these things probably would have made us leave and book somewhere else. I should say we're American.

Our hosts were friendly, even though they didn't know Italian, and we enjoyed our week at Villa Savioli. The room was spotless and a good size, and breakfast was generous and tasty. It was convenient to walk about 20 minutes to the old city center, and there were good restaurants nearby.

Secure parking was a welcome extra, and everything else was great too: the room, breakfast, and location, just a short walk from the city. What stood out most was our host's warm hospitality. She chatted with us for ages over breakfast and made us feel like family in her home, in the nicest way. We had a wonderful stay at Villa Savioli and highly recommend it for a visit to this super cool city.

The tasty breakfast was a real plus, and the B&B is in a distinctive building on a quiet street lined with stylish houses, close to some of Bologna's most beautiful areas. The price-to-quality balance could be better, though. The building carries sound badly, and with the rooms near reception and the main corridor, we heard everything happening there. There was no wardrobe in the room, and the mattress was quite hard.

The villa has a bohemian feel, and the receptionist was very kind and helped us with a late check-in. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished, with a large terrace. The breakfast room was very small, and it was quite cold, though heating seems to be an issue across Italy. I'd recommend it.
