From the high timber ceilings to the thick stone walls and little cellar below, the old mill house feels cozy and pleasant. It was badly damaged by bombing during the war, then bought and restored by the family who run it now. They're warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. You can take an easy, pleasant walk to the piazza in the town center or to Lake Bolsena. The local lake fish and dishes are worth trying, and our stay at the Casale was wonderful, so I'm giving it five stars.

Gian Marco made us feel welcome and was full of helpful suggestions for places to see nearby. Casale 1541 itself is a lovely, comfortable base in a great spot for visiting Bolsena and the surrounding area. We had three wonderful days here and would definitely return. Highly recommended.

We had a great breakfast and a very clean room with a perfect bed. The host was friendly, and the beautifully renovated old mill sits in a quiet corner of Bolsena, close to the center. I'd recommend it to couples.

8/10
The staff were very polite and friendly, and the location is good, with parking for cars. Our room was small, and the shower cubicle felt cramped. There was a damp smell, probably because the building is old. Breakfast had lots of pastries and bread, which wasn't ideal for us, though there were also boiled eggs, yogurt, and a small choice of cold meats and cheeses. It seems a good option for one or two nights.

The staff were especially helpful and lovely. The interior feels new, with thoughtful design and a personal touch, and the place was cozy and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was great, and the coffee was the best.
