Hotel Ariston

The hotel has no elevator, so getting a heavy suitcase up the narrow stairs is a struggle. There’s no breakfast either. They suggest the russian bar next door, but its breakfast selection is poor and people smoke inside. My room had no hot water or heating. It faced a busy intersection and had no sound insulation, so it was extremely loud. I could also hear exactly what people in the neighboring rooms were saying. The building is old.

I booked through Expedia after seeing that free parking was available nearby. The receptionist said the parking was in a garage and cost extra. There was no hot water in the room either, and after a 30-minute discussion they changed my room. There was no elevator.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have another option. There's a real "luigi" at reception who'd probably sell his grandmother for 10 euros.

We came from Innsbruck to see friends, but Bolzano was fully booked for our dates, so we ended up at this "hotel." At 2 pm on a very hot summer day, nobody was at reception, despite the claim of 24-hour service. A sticker on a second door said check-in began at 4 pm. We returned two hours later, and during check-in the receptionist tried to explain in very poor English that checkout was at 10 am. The room was basic, with small, low-quality towels and two separate beds that kept needing to be put back together. The balcony was shared with the neighboring room. If you're a Berlusconi fan, the TV might suit you, since we couldn't change channels from the one showing Italian drama queens 24/7, sponsored by the national Gigolo. The next morning, the corridor was full of dirty sheets, towels, and pillows, and we had to find our way out through it.
