Locanda Il Fagiano

It's a bit remote out in the Ferrara countryside, but worth finding. A welcoming, well-kept restaurant with professional service and hospitality. The dishes were very good and beautifully presented.

We were definitely satisfied. The staff and owner were very kind, the dishes were tasty, and the portions were excellent. The rustic atmosphere was really well kept.

Massimo and Cinzia were fully available and very helpful. The rooms have a beautiful antique style, with lots of space and air, huge private bathrooms, and stunning exposed-beam ceilings. The traditional Emilian food is excellent, especially the exquisite meat, and they cater to celiacs too. Highly recommended!

The lighting at dinner is the one flaw: in the evening it's dim enough to feel a little too dark, and tiring on the eyes, especially if you're trying for a romantic mood. Still, I'd highly recommend the restaurant. It's tucked away in a pristine rural landscape, the staff are extremely friendly, and the food is delicious. The restaurant itself is quaint and very well kept, and the cooking is excellent, refined yet traditional.
