I came back to Albergo del Po / Trattoria Pesce in 2018 and again found the service perfectly friendly and the traditional food delicious. It's a great place to stay. In 2017 I spent three days here, after staying just one night and a day the year before. It's a charming, welcoming spot, with the trattoria and bar at the front and a small modern hotel at the back of the old building. The owners greeted us warmly. Dinner was wonderfully simple and natural: rabbit made by Mama and Ravioli Spinaci made by Grandma.

The family who own the place made a real effort to accommodate us, and we were very impressed by them. We spent a couple of nights there, visiting Brescello, where the Don Camillo movies were filmed, as well as Mantova, Sabbioneta, and the surrounding area. We enjoyed the local food and had a big breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Prices were quite reasonable, and breakfast is included. We'd definitely return if we get the chance.

We spent a pleasant night there in quiet rooms, among friendly guests and owners. The cooking was good and typical. Nearby, there's an interesting pontoon bridge museum run by an older local resident.
