Villa Ada

The noise was hard to ignore, especially at night, and the place felt neither clean nor up to date. We weren't in the priciest room, but still didn't expect this from a three-star hotel. There was a strange cigarette and chlorine-like smell when we arrived, brown residue stayed at the bottom of the toilet throughout our visit, and the mini fridge held meat that smelled several days old. Breakfast was below average, with only ready-made food. The staff didn't make us feel welcome and made no effort to speak English, despite it being listed among the hotel's languages, or to chat and offer recommendations. Parking is limited and costs extra, so you may need to leave your car on the street. That also means there's nowhere secure to keep a bike you bring. You can borrow one for just €1, but bring a pump and repair kit: the bikes are very old and poorly maintained. We got a flat and had to push ours for 10 km. The receptionist isn't there all the time, and anyone can access the hotel at any hour, so it didn't feel secure. Don't bring valuables.
