Locanda Di Alberi

We spent our days by the pool and our evenings at the grill, and the Italian-style breakfasts were delicious. The owner was friendly and ready to help. It’s a beautiful 17th-century house with rooms that have their own distinctive decor, and it worked well for a short or longer stay. We wanted somewhere away from the city bustle, and it made a great base for Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, and Florence.

Traveling with a young child was easy here, since the owner made sure we had what we needed for a comfortable stay. She was warm and helpful, with great suggestions for places to eat and routes to take. The room was spotless and charming, and the inn sits among lots of greenery. Florence is about 20 minutes away and Lucca around an hour and 20 minutes. There are organized adventures nearby too. We’ll definitely return.

The in-room breakfast was excellent, and so were Valeria’s cakes. She’s a lovely hostess, and the Mugello countryside setting is stunning. The room did feel cold in the evenings when we visited in October. We had to leave the radiators on all day, or the blankets felt damp at bedtime, which wasn’t comfortable. My husband has already gone back, and I’ll definitely return too, since everything else was truly perfect.

We were a group of 12, and every one of us was very happy with our stay at Locanda Di Alberi. The rooms were beautiful, with impeccable cleaning and service. Signora Valeria welcomed us with so much care and was attentive to what we needed. The setting is lovely and peaceful, and it’s also well placed for visiting parts of Tuscany.
