Motel Borgo San Leucio

Hiron, a Bangladeshi man, was the one bright spot. He was really kind and made an effort to help. The property itself is very nice, but the rooms are badly run-down: heat comes from pellet stoves, the bathrooms are very old, and the broken plastic shower stall actually floats on an outdoor doormat being used inside. The breakfast room is dirty too. Juice has been left open for weeks, and the kettle has stagnant water that's turned brown. Such a shame, especially for the price. It's so low that it doesn't allow for proper management, but the place needs much better upkeep.

It's a charming setting, a convent attached to a beautiful church. The welcome, though, was inadequate. The pellet stove wasn't working, so they swapped it for an electric one. There was a young foreigner on site handling guest check-ins and check-outs. The place deserves better.

Locals have looted and pillaged this ancient convent repeatedly, despite its having been renovated several times. Now it hosts immigrants and events once or twice a year. A clear example of Italy at its best.

The building is beautiful, but it isn't cared for well. They show you a somewhat cold room with synthetic sheets that are almost see-through, and after that you don't see anyone again. Breakfast comes in capsules, with no coffee, only macchiato or latte. In short, you either feel sorry for them or you don't go.
