We had a calm, relaxing stay in Mazzanetti. The family running it made the place feel like home, and it was easy to enjoy a bike ride from Ivrea. There's a big, clean pool, excellent barbecue facilities, and a really good restaurant. Highly recommended if you're looking to unwind.

We'd booked three nights for a short break in the valley, but transport problems meant I had to go home with friends after the second night. I asked the manager to refund that last night, and he said he'd take care of it. I gave him my bank details, but nothing has come through and I haven't heard from him since. I don't expect to see the money, though I know a refund isn't necessarily required. But if he says he'll do it, he should keep his word. Also, check before booking if there's a disco night planned, because it's noisy. Just one experience among many, and nobody was hurt, so... ABE.

We paid €120, yet the room was cold with the radiators off, there was only cold water, and breakfast wasn't provided. They took cash and didn't give even a basic receipt. I can't recommend it.

If you're just passing through, go a little farther to the Aosta Valley. They're well known for their hospitality there.
