Relais Del Maro

I loved staying here! The breakfast was amazing, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the service was superb and so friendly. It’s in a beautiful village, with a great restaurant just across the street that the staff recommended. Every little detail feels considered. I can’t think of anything that could have been better. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, without exaggeration.

We only came in for lunch, and it was excellent. The welcome and service had a rare grace and kindness to them. That’s how a hotel should be run.

The room was gorgeous and comfortable, and the garden and pool were wonderful. We loved the breakfast and lunches, plus the afternoon tea each day. The team also knows so much about the food and the region, and their hospitality makes Relais del Maro feel special. We returned on June 25 and found it just as beautiful, with the same wonderful people. Thank you, Relais del Maro and Borgomaro, for another fabulous holiday. Grazie mille!

The breakfast buffet has all you need and then some, with creative dishes and local products. We also love the afternoon tea and aperitif, and lunch is best enjoyed in the beautiful setting at Relais del Maro. Even our animals are welcomed with their own bed, a little bowl, and treats when we arrive. We’ve been coming back to this small paradise in charming Borgomaro for years, sometimes several times a year. We’re lucky to live just two and a half hours away in France, so whenever we get the chance, we hurry back. We’re hoteliers ourselves and have known the business for years, and we still find this one of the friendliest places we know. Elena, Martina, Sylvie, Viola, Nina, Joy, and the housekeeping staff have looked after us so well each time we come “home.” They’ve all been here throughout the years we’ve visited, which says a lot. Elena’s homemade booklets at the front desk are full of ideas for walks and outings, hidden restaurants, local craftspeople, wine producers, olive oil, cheeses, and plenty more. There’s enough to keep you discovering the area for ages, or give you reasons to return often. We always leave already looking forward to coming back and staying longer.
