Agriturismo Rini

We were looking forward to this five-night stay, which made the disappointment all the worse. For what we paid, we expected a much better level of service and quality. Support from the staff was the biggest letdown. They acknowledged our concerns but didn't really resolve them. The two families in our group had paid the same rate and expected rooms next to each other on the same floor, but were put on different floors. One room was connecting, with only a door between it and the next room, so we heard noise constantly. The other room was extremely small with hardly any storage, and the bathrooms differed a lot in size and layout. We asked to switch rooms and were told there was no availability. The wellness area cost extra because we hadn't booked directly with the hotel, and was far below standard. The bathtub had no hot water. One sauna never got properly hot, and the other took 1-2 hours to heat enough. Staff said the issue had been fixed, but nothing improved. The upper sauna's electronic panel showed that water was needed, but no water was available. Aromatherapy was advertised, though we never experienced it. We use saunas regularly, and this was well below an acceptable quality. Breakfast was limited but acceptable. Dinner was mediocre, so we ate there only once. For this price, the hotel didn't deliver the level of service or quality we expected.

Giulia helped make the meal feel relaxed and welcoming with her warmth and attentiveness, and the rest of the staff were friendly too. The Valtellina wines were a highlight and paired beautifully with the food. At Agriturismo Rini in Bormio, the dishes were delicious and well prepared, with flavors and care that reflected the quality and traditions of the local cuisine. It made for a satisfying, memorable dinner.

The staff's English was so limited that I wondered how they could work in such a touristy area. It was embarrassing and sad. We found much nicer hotels during our time in Bormio. Our five-night stay was disappointing. For the price, we expected a much higher standard: mediocre rooms, below-average food, and a so-called wellness area that was a joke. They charged extra for it even though we couldn't use it properly.

The pistachio crumble cake was to die for, and the dinner was amazing with good-sized portions. My only little complaint is that I wanted more tiramisù. Definitely recommend!
