The price is exorbitant for this kind of place and the services offered, or rather not offered, compared with other accommodation in Bormio. The only plus is the city center location. We had trouble finding it on arrival, and the exterior signs had been taken down, which left us with doubts about the establishment’s legality. There’s no proper reception, and it’s unmanned outside cleaning hours. Parking costs extra, with a nearby garage available for €15 a day. There’s no breakfast, not even for a fee, despite the restaurant downstairs. Towels aren’t included either, though they can be rented for €3 per person. Our assigned apartment was cramped and dark, with 1980s relics for furniture, worn out and in need of renovation. There was barely room to move or open a suitcase, and using the kitchenette for anything beyond coffee was unthinkable. The bed sagged and was far too soft, and the pillows were barely a finger’s breadth thick. Soundproofing was terrible: we could hear every little noise from neighboring rooms and the street, especially from the stairwell, which echoed like a chamber. The Booking.com photos, clearly taken by a skilled photographer, don’t reflect the run-down condition or the very different impression in person. In short, a hostel.

We were very satisfied, and would have loved to stay one more night. The bedroom was lovely and already warm when we arrived. It had everything we needed, plus a few extras the owner provided. They were friendly and attentive. Nothing to complain about, fantastic.

We had a great couple of nights. The food was excellent, and the rooms were clean and welcoming. The location is good too. Dogs are accepted, including large ones, as long as they’re well behaved. That matters to me, since I hear all sorts of things when I’m trying to find somewhere that will take my big dog. Recommended anyway!

The room was excellent and even had a kitchenette. The lady was really kind and thoughtful. When I booked the spa through her, we got a 10% discount and skipped the line. I recommend it, though if you’re very demanding, there are plenty of five-star hotels.
