We had a wonderful honeymoon here. They made our stay feel extra special, and our room was beautiful, with a great view and a bathtub on the balcony. The location worked really well, and having parking was a big plus. Highly recommend it.

We left feeling grossed out, and it made for an uncomfortable stay. The room looked neglected and was visibly dirty when we arrived, with hair in several places and dust and dirt all over the floor, as if it hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. The walls were dirty too, and the beds looked extremely worn. Breakfast was fine, but the tables and placemats looked worn and dirty as well. I’m embarrassed to tell my husband how much we paid. I don’t understand the high Google rating that led us to book this place. We were really unimpressed.

The building has real character, and our room was spacious with high ceilings, but we wouldn’t return or recommend it. The historic interior was let down by dated decor. A Jacuzzi and sauna had been awkwardly fitted into the room, and the bathroom was a prefab cubicle with fake marble tiles. Its shower entrance was extremely narrow, definitely under 50 cm, and could be difficult for many guests. The toilet paper came from a large dispenser like one in a public bathroom. The blackout curtain left part of the window uncovered, so we couldn’t darken the room, and the air conditioning was so noisy that sleeping was hard. Even the bed sheet wasn’t wide enough to tuck in properly. Breakfast was very average, served in a dark room with no windows, which felt especially disappointing in sunny Sardinia. At around €150 a night we might have overlooked some of these things, but over €300 for one night felt like a complete rip-off. It was a very poor experience.

The restaurant was fantastic, and you could tell locals enjoy it too. As hotel guests, we got special conditions that made dining there even nicer. My room looked out over the castle and river, such a breathtaking view it felt like a postcard. The hotel exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return.

The free parking and convenient location were good, and breakfast was okay. We had the family room under the roof. It was spacious, but very old and run down. It got extremely hot because the air conditioning didn’t cool the room, apparently from lack of maintenance, and there were lots of mosquitoes. Given how poor the room was, the hotel felt absolutely overpriced.
