Albergo Ristorante Leso

We were woken by cowbells after leaving the windows open, and the air felt so fresh and clean. My room was bright, clean, and had everything I needed, including a balcony with a lovely view. The meals were a highlight too: local traditional food, with fresh produce, pasta, polenta, risotto, and very affordable local wine. Over five nights, there was plenty of variety. I was there for a creative writing retreat, and the mountain scenery, inspiring views, and lovely light made it a great place to write. It also worked well for relaxing, hiking, exploring, or getting away with friends, a partner, or on your own. Verona is under an hour away, and the public transport between the village and city is surprisingly cheap. The hosts recommended walks and even drove us to the next town, which was nice to explore. Albergo Ristorante Leso is laid back, friendly, and family run. Irene was especially warm and looked after us so well. She even lent me her mosquito cream. I came home feeling relaxed, recharged, and inspired. I'd happily recommend the place.

Damien and his girlfriend Irene looked after us so well during our week-long retreat in October 2019. The scenery around the hotel was glorious, with hills, valleys, donkeys, and cows, and Damien took us on some interesting walks, including one up a nearby mountain. Albergo Ristorante Leso was cozy and quirky, and the food was exceptional. Verona is only an hour away, so it would make a great base for sightseeing. I'll definitely come back with my husband.

We got some good hiking suggestions from the hosts, and the food was classic Italian fare done well. A lovely spot tucked away in the Italian Dolomites.

The family were so welcoming and helpful, and the hotel had tidy rooms and glorious food, all in beautiful surroundings. I was in Valdiporro for a Writers' Retreat organised jointly by the hotel and the writer leading the writing sessions. It was a fantastic week, productive as well as relaxing.
