Casa Maria Assenza in Assenza

Casa Maria gets 2 stars, while Lake Garda gets 5. The apartment has a beautiful view, and you'll be fine if you're out and about, but there were quite a few issues during our stay. The receptionist doesn't speak English, which made it really hard to report a problem or even ask a basic question. We also had to provide essentials like toilet paper, dish soap, hand soap, and towels cost €8 extra per person. There was a €25 cleaning fee and €24 city tax too. Both neighbors smoked, so we rarely got to sit on our porch and enjoy that view. The internet didn't work or was very slow for the first three days, so video calls with family or watching Netflix in the evening could be difficult. Cars make a lot of noise on the rocky driveway outside the bedroom windows, so light sleepers may prefer the living room. Construction was going on for the first few days, Saturday included, and we woke up to someone jackhammering in the basement. Here are some pictures.

The location was perfect, but everything else was not. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The hosts made us feel at ease the whole time and were helpful and accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a pleasant, friendly atmosphere. We were very satisfied with the stay and would happily return. Thanks for a lovely time, we can wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse.

The hotel was a perfect base for fantastic excursions, and we felt very comfortable there. The grounds were immaculately kept, and the room and terrace were spotless. That terrace had a breathtaking view, and the whole property was a dream. Thank you for the excellent service and incredibly friendly staff, always ready to help.
