Villa Mercurio Apartments

Great AirBNB, really nice place!

The balcony has a beautiful view of Lake Garda, but everything else was terrible. The price doesn’t match the quality. It’s noisy, the cleaning was only moderate, and parts of the place need renovation. The internet is very poor, there’s only a limited amount of crockery and dishes, and parking is limited.

The balcony view of Lake Garda and the modern furnishings were the best parts for us. There’s also a shared garden and pool, though the pool only feels like a special perk when the other apartments aren’t using it. With all four occupied, that could mean at least 16 people sharing it. Parking is limited and first come, first served: only three spaces, possibly four, for four apartments, and one fits only a very small car. The listing was confusing. Photos of all four apartments appeared in every listing, so we expected features that our unit didn’t have, including a large dining table for four. Instead, our dining area was two bar stools in front of a huge TV. The listing mentioned coffee equipment and a proper oven, but there was only a coffee maker. A few basics like sugar, oil, spices, a dish towel, dishwasher tablets, and baking paper would have helped. Cleanliness was a problem: we found hair, cigarette butts in the ashtray, dirty tablecloths and curtains, and geckos in the apartment because the bathroom windows were broken. The outdoor area also felt neglected, with a dirty, murky pool and protruding, overhanging elements, screw heads that could cause a fall, empty flower boxes, weed-filled beds, and a broken gazebo and umbrellas. When we raised the problems, communication with the landlord was poor. The cleanliness concern wasn’t really dealt with. We were offered another cleaning only because staff were already on site. The landlord thought it was normal to show all the units in one advertisement, and was unreachable until the time we’d arranged in advance.

The balcony gave us a beautiful view of Lake Garda, and the apartment was spotless. It’s furnished in a really modern style. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would happily recommend it.
