Residence Bad Burgstall

The house is in a nice spot, but we would not recommend staying here. The owner spoke very vulgarly about Czechs when she apparently thought nobody else was around the corner with a car. It was strange, especially since every third car on Plos is from the Czechs and Czechs obviously bring money. The attitude left us feeling like we were seen as difficult, dirty people from Bohemia, tolerated only for what we paid. There are no accommodation instructions in Czech, and we found no garbage bags or toilet paper. The farm is open, messy, and smelly. Paint is peeling from the room partitions, and the balcony railings are poorly maintained, with splinters that could easily get stuck in you. You get the Wi-Fi key, but the connection is unstable and almost impossible to use, so it’s more of a nuisance than a benefit. The owners have an apartment above the apartments, and their traffic and guests are obviously affected by our privacy. The landlord then hysterically attacks guests. Parking is in the yard, where gravel has been spilled and crushed into mud, which gets tracked into the car and apartment. The driveway is also neglected, with potholes and ruts. The owner seems not to understand that she and the apartments should make a good impression on guests, rather than the other way around. That’s the main problem.

Adele was so kind, and the location was beautiful. It was lovely coming back each evening to this quiet place surrounded by greenery after days out in Trentino, Austria, or Germany. Getting there was easy.

The guesthouse is pleasant and the service friendly, with lovely views of Brixen and the hill across from it. The rooms are practical, and the kitchen has everything needed, including a dishwasher. It’s just a bit of a walk to the ski bus.

The view is spectacular and the place is peaceful, while still being convenient for Bressanone. Our room felt warm and welcoming, with good equipment and comfort, and the price was very reasonable.
