Hotel Serenella

The staff were pleasant and friendly, and I thought the hotel was good value for money. I had reservations, but they were allayed. It's a three-star place, with clean, comfortable rooms on the same floor as the lounge and dining room. The location was wonderful, just a short walk from the lift, and you could ski back quite close to the entrance. I had no complaints about the food. Breakfast was adequate, and I especially liked that the pasta primi course changed every night. The main course was different each evening too, with a choice, and they catered for gluten-free and vegetarian diets. One night there was a cigarette smell. They closed the door so the fumes wouldn't come in. I'd return.

The people were the best part of my stay, especially the family, I'm presuming, who ran the hotel. They were friendly, hardworking, and put real effort into making my holiday a great one. If you're with Inghams, their rep Oana is great too. She sent daily WhatsApp updates on snow conditions, plus guides, tips, and suggested ski itineraries. I've read the bad reviews, and I don't think they're deserved. The location is right by the main bars, restaurants, shops, and lifts in Cervinia. In the morning it's a mostly flat two-to-three-minute walk to the main chairlift. In the evening you can ski much closer, leaving only a 30-second walk to the hotel door. The room was nice, and I appreciated the thoughtful little touches: hand warmers, a tray for drying my snow-covered shoes, and pocket tissues. There isn't a fridge, but the window shelf works well as an alternative. I was there with Inghams on half board, so the food may differ for other guests. Breakfast was basic but just right for skiing, with fruit, muesli, yoghurt, juice, bread, cold cuts, and cheese. The coffee could have been better. Dinner had plenty of variety and decent flavor, mostly primi and secondi, plus a really good pizza night from the connected restaurant.

A nice, small family-run hotel. The beds were comfortable, the shower decent, and the staff friendly. There was a decent range of food too.

The family running Hotel Serenella really made us feel welcome, and the hotel's central Cervinia location is hard to beat. The ski lifts are a short walk away, and it's also a good base for scenic walks in the valley. Our room was cozy and comfortable, with recently renovated wood and mountain-style furnishings. It's a charming hotel and good value for money.
