The room was filthy, with dirty sheets and fungus in the bathroom. There was a secondhand blanket, and when I asked for clean sheets because the ones there were dirty, she handed me two white hospital cloths without pillowcases. Smoke kept coming into the room through the extractor fan, and also from the air conditioning. I asked about the cigarette smell and was told it was from the previous customer. We came back from a walk and the smoke was still coming through. We had to leave the door open just to breathe. She left us without a hotel at 9 at night, up in the mountains, and didn't seem to care. The room should be inspected by the police as uninhabitable. It was an awful experience and a total lack of empathy. I don't want this happening to anyone else. The photos speak for themselves.

I don't get the bad reviews. Everything was perfect. After hiking the Way of Poets, it felt so cozy to come back and have a quiet, comfortable night.

A good-value hostel for a Brunate stay, with a room looking out over the Como hills. The price and quality were a great match.

We ended up leaving early because of one problem after another. It was 2 degrees outside, and the apartment was still freezing since neither the heating nor the air conditioning could be used. For two people, the only bedding beyond the sheet was a blanket that was barely enough. Cleanliness was also absent. There were cobwebs hanging from the chandelier and in every corner, plus dust and hair even on the heating controls. After being away for 13 hours on the second day, we came back to find the power out. Nobody replied when we tried to reach them. A stay we'd rather forget.
