The balcony view was a highlight, and Stefano and Chiara were warm and helpful hosts. The rooms are basic, but clean and stocked with the appliances you need. The drive up and parking take some figuring out. Even so, we’d happily come back.

We never stayed at the hotel. We walked in by mistake because the entrance says “ristorante” and we were trying to find the restaurant. A woman came over right away, said “hotel” several times, and spoke in a very condescending way. I left, but my mom stayed to ask where the restaurant was. When she came out and tried to close the door, the woman yanked it from my 70-year-old mother's hand and slammed it. I gave her the finger, which I shouldn't have done, but her conduct was shocking. Then she followed us outside and told us, “stay in your country!” The hotel flies an American flag and probably has plenty of American guests. We plan to contact the owner and may notify the local tourism department. I might not have posted a review if other people hadn't described problems too, but this doesn't seem like an isolated incident. She was one of the nastiest people I've encountered anywhere.

The view was incredible, and the receptionist was so lovely. She gave us ideas for things to do in Brunate. We slept well, the shower worked nicely, and the room had air conditioning. The only letdown was the fridge, which stayed warm even while plugged in. Everything else was great. Love from Norway :)

Driving up was quite an adventure, with narrow streets that are awkward when another car comes the other way. The funicular is also an option, and it stops just a few minutes from the hotel. There’s parking down the street. Check-in was straightforward, and the rooms are simple, with a pleasant balcony view and a good fridge. Breakfast was OK. It’s close to the lighthouse, where the view is amazing. I wasn’t sure what to expect when we booked, but it turned into a nice experience.
