For skiing, the location works really well. You can get ready at the hotel and then take the nearby train over to the Percha cableway.

The place has a great atmosphere and an amazing location, and the receptionist was super friendly. But the Dolomites suite felt far too small for three people. Check-out at 11:00 was too early, and the suites and breakfast seemed overpriced.

The only real plus for me was the location, close to the city center. We booked two nights for two people and our small dog. The website said pet owners would get a room without carpet, with a hard wood floor, for an extra charge, which I was happy to pay. Instead, we were given a spacious room with carpet, which isn't suitable for pets. When I asked reception to move us to the promised type of room, they couldn't do it right away. I had to ask twice before they arranged a move for the next day. Having to hold off unpacking and relaxing because of a room change was frustrating. We checked in at 6:50 pm, and the beds were set up as two singles. We asked to have them joined as a double since we're a couple and wanted to sleep close together, but they couldn't change that either. At a four-star hotel, having no housekeeping available even at 7pm is simply not acceptable. The room cleaning was poor: there were hairs on the pillow and sheets, the water glasses were filthy, and so was the cap on the water bottle left for guests. There were also bits of food scattered on the floor from the previous guest. I hadn't noticed them, but my dog found them. That's not acceptable at a four-star hotel. Breakfast was disappointing. It ran until 10am, but by 9:05 most of the food was gone and very little was replenished. I appreciate that they tried to make up for the poor service with a bottle of Prosecco, but it wasn't enough. We booked a couple of days to relax, and instead had extra stress because they didn't provide what they were supposed to. Apparently ownership and management have changed, and the service has gone downhill. I won't return.

The garden was such a relaxing spot, and I enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was generous and fresh, with a great selection, including lovely bread and homemade jam. I also had some excellent food at the restaurant, including vegetarian stuffed zucchini flower and ravioli. Sitting outside was nice; although the garden is beside the train station, it's only a slow local train and I hardly noticed it all week. The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from Brunico's center, with a pleasant stretch along the river. All week, I met nothing but friendly, smiling staff. Thanks to everyone, especially Silvia, who made my last dinner a lovely memory!
