Gruppenhaus Thalackerhof

The kids loved meeting all the animals, from rabbits and pigs to cows, cats, and Aika, the friendly husky. We also enjoyed the beautiful walking trails and the outdoor barbecue area. The view is breathtaking, and the farm is well run. We had a wonderful vacation at Thalackerhof in St. Georgen and felt right at home. A great tip for families and nature lovers, we highly recommend it!

The owners were very kind and always ready to help, and we could get milk and eggs right from the farm. The place is clean, spacious, quiet, and has all the amenities we needed, plus an outdoor barbecue. It was a fantastic stay with no problems, and we'd definitely return. A couple of drawbacks: the house feels a bit dated, and the stairs to the rooms are quite noisy and need repairs. In summer, if the windows are open, rooms facing the stables can smell from them.

It's great for groups with children. The building is due to be demolished and completely rebuilt this autumn.

The main problem for us was the lack of fly screens in the bedrooms. The dining room and kitchen have them, but at a farm with so many flies, beetles, and other insects, you can't open the bedroom windows without letting them in. It wasn't pleasant, especially when beetles got into the bed. The owners live next door, are very helpful, and speak good German. There are lots of animals, including dogs, cats, cows, rabbits, and chickens. The house is dated but fairly clean, the rooms have heating, and the view is very nice. The kitchen is large and functional.
