Hotel Blitzburg

The town is elegant and beautiful, and the train station is just a two-minute walk away for trips further afield. For skiing, the shuttle ran for two hours in the morning and two in the afternoon, making it easy to reach the lifts. We spent nine nights at the Blitzburg and can hardly imagine a better stay. Our Superior Oak Room was spacious and beautifully furnished in a modern style with traditional materials. The family-run service was warm and welcoming. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were excellent, and they handled individual dietary needs well. The bar was just right for a sociable pre-dinner drink without becoming noisy. Many thanks to the Familie Baumgartner for making our family holiday perhaps the best we’ve ever had. It’s a fantastic hotel in a wonderful town for skiers and non-skiers alike.

The hotel is close to the train station, with a supermarket across the road. We had a spacious room in this family-run place, plus a balcony overlooking the mountains. The restaurant staff were very friendly and put up with my atrocious Italian. The food was very good, and breakfast had plenty of choice.

I’m here for a week at the moment, and everything has been excellent, from the rooms and staff to the spa and fine dining. I can’t fault this lovely family-run hotel.

The staff were so welcoming and helpful, and even accommodated our vegetarian and lactose-free diets. They also gave us great suggestions for things to do nearby. The rooms were comfortable, and the small spa had everything we needed. We’d stay again. Thanks, everyone.
