Hotel Caroline

The breakfast was a highlight, with lots of choice and an absolutely hummy pistachio croissant (tsu˘feh ˘ς)! The front desk staff were always attentive and ready to help with a smile. My room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, a good place to unwind after a long day. I had a great stay and would happily return.

The views were soothing, all green hills and mountains, and it was only a five-minute walk to the lake. It’s a small place rather than a tourist factory, so I saw the same faces at breakfast for most of my stay. The staff were friendly, smiling, unobtrusive, and all spoke English. My room was cool, the bed was comfortable, and I couldn’t hear the neighbours. The room and the common areas, including the restaurant and lobby, were clean, though the decor felt rather styleless. Breakfast was included. It was good, but somewhat monotonous. The building and pool have already been bitten by the tooth of time. The pool water isn’t heated, so it may not suit small children, although it’s 122 cm deep. There were some practical shortcomings in the room: one wardrobe with hangers and no chest of drawers, which really wasn’t enough space for underwear or shirts. The TV had maybe three or four channels and wasn’t connected to the internet, so Netflix was out.

For the price, location, and kind service, I’m giving it five stars. Hotel Caroline is across the street from the lake, so it’s very convenient, and there’s an elevator. The room was spacious and the property well kept. It’s a great base for day trips around Brusicampano, with restaurants and the lake easily reachable on foot. The price was very reasonable. It’s not the Ritz, but for those reasons it’s the best in town.
