Casa Guia

Our apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was peaceful too, with lovely countryside views. We enjoyed strolling through the gardens and unwinding by the pool, and the laundry facilities near the pool were a great extra. There’s also a traditional restaurant a short walk away. We ate there on two of our four nights. We were in Tuscany for a wedding and felt lucky to spend four nights in this lovingly cared-for 12th-century castle. Marco and his son were warm and hospitable, and welcomed us with a basket of goodies and a bottle of wine. Marcello also brought us a bowl of freshly picked figs from their beautiful gardens. It was a unique, memorable stay, and we highly recommend it.

The silence here was golden, and the apartment was spotless, with beautifully kept grounds. After just two days, we already felt as if this were our own Tuscan country home. Leaving was hard. We wish we’d stayed longer and hope to return one day. We’ll tell our friends, and we can’t thank Marco and Marcello enough.

The owner is a lovely, easy-to-talk-to person, and his list of the area’s best restaurants was genuinely useful. The 12th-century castle is beautiful, with clean apartments, a welcome basket, secure parking, and dogs allowed. The pool and grounds are very well kept. Siena is nearby, and we’d absolutely come back.

The quiet, views, and immaculate facilities make it hard to leave Castelletto. Marco and Marcello are wonderful hosts, and their neighbor Lucia cooks beautifully. I’d never had zucchini that tasty, straight from her garden. I’m coming back to try the nearby Osteria, enjoy more of Lucia’s food, visit nearby towns, and walk more through the forest and olive groves.
