Buonconveto is a nice town, and this hotel has everything you need at a very fair price. I had a great three-night stay, with really helpful staff. I stayed at the hotel on the corner near bar moderno, which is perfectly located.

The bed wasn't really a bed: one side had a mattress and the other just a box spring. The pillows were flatter than pancakes. Probably the worst room we've stayed in anywhere in Europe. I wouldn't stay here again.

We couldn't get the temperature down in room 25, a ground-floor room facing the back courtyard. The windows were in direct sun all day, and at 24 degrees Celsius it was uncomfortable. We asked three times and got different explanations: first the lady said the air conditioning was off and could only be switched on at the central controls, but nothing changed. Then she said she'd misunderstood, and it wasn't air conditioning at all, just a heater she'd turned off. We didn't like being treated that way. Avoid this hotel if you can, or at least check the room if they assign you number 25.

We stayed at the partner hotel Albergo Roma and found the room disappointing. It looked onto an enclosed "courtyard" that felt claustrophobic. Breakfast at Hotel Ghibellino was very basic, and the two eggs one person in our party ordered were raw. The dining room is in the basement and was very hot. I wouldn't recommend either hotel.

I stayed in the separate albergo down the road. The room had a tasteful, recent renovation and was exceptionally clean. Everything worked, and breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was really, really good.
