Limolo B&B

Daniela makes you feel at home, and she also arranges interesting activities in this remarkable, still little-visited part of Sardinia. Limòlo House has charming biodynamic architecture and is a wonderfully relaxing place to stay in Cabras. I’d strongly recommend it to anyone.

We paid Limolo and its owner, Daniella, $600 for dusty rooms, worn and torn furniture, poor lighting, and plenty of inconveniences. There was no soap, apparently because it is ecologically pollutive, and the rooms weren’t cleaned. We were also told not to take the towels to the beach. The owner seems to consider the place a museum of treasures, but that wasn’t our experience of this decrepit “museum.” It felt like an “ego-logical” fairyland where guests pay for dust, discomfort, and disrespect. I suspect the owner pays for some of these reviews. Booking.com shows the real rating at 3.5 stars.

Daniela is a great host, and the breakfast with homemade jam and cake was lovely. Limolo is in the heart of Cabras, near the Stagno. The natural garden has a quirky oven and other eco-design touches that make the place especially nice. If you want a genuinely sustainable stay, with options like guided walks in the countryside, this is a good fit. Spring and autumn may be best if you'd rather visit when there are fewer tourists.

The B&B has a welcoming, open feel, with guests meeting over breakfast. Daniela has restored this charming old house while keeping local historic details, and the sailing theme comes through in the colors and furnishings. She’s an experienced sailor with a long love of the sea. Dinner can be arranged in the house, where Daniela is an excellent cook, and cooking lessons are also an option. For time outdoors, you can set up hikes around the lagoons, with or without a guide, or sailing courses at intermediate and advanced levels. A wonderful place in Cabras.
