Cagliari Domus

We felt very comfortable here for our two nights in Cagliari, and I’d recommend it for a short city break. The host spoke excellent English, and arriving and getting the keys was easy. The room was clean and nicely furnished, with a very quiet air conditioner. With the window shut, street noise was barely noticeable, though sounds traveled easily between rooms. We did miss having a small fridge. Everything in the city is within walking distance from this central location. Parking is the difficult part if you arrive by car. There are lots of spaces along the street and nearby, but they’re popular, so you may wait a long time for one. Parking costs 1€ per hour, except at night from 20-9, on Sundays, and between 13 and 16 o'clock.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but it feels irresponsible not to in this case. We booked in August and stayed on October 15th, paying $71.76. At first the room seemed small but quaint. Then there was a possible mold smell, and we found pubic hair in the bide'. The bathroom was filthy, including the vent, and the shower was dirty and old, with a shower head that seemed ready to fall at any moment. The ceiling above it was peeling. The bedroom was tiny and unclean, with a strange large mirror on the wall opposite the bed. The bed was very uncomfortable, too soft and feeling old, and the sheet covering the mattress was ripped in one corner. There was no cellphone reception, and nothing mentioned whether Wi-Fi was available. I barely slept, only managing five minutes at a time from exhaustion, and we left as fast as we could at 4am.

You’re in the heart of the city within a few minutes, with bars and restaurants nearby and the port close too. The hotel was very clean, central, and quiet, and the staff were lovely. I highly recommend it.

We didn’t hear any noise at night, even though the clean, nice rooms with AC are right in the heart of Cagliari. The hosts really go out of their way for guests, and they’re super pet-friendly. Ask them for restaurant or bar suggestions, you won’t be disappointed.
