Cagliarifornia - Camera 2

We stayed here twice for two nights each time, and both visits started with a clean room. I can't really say how regular cleaning is, though. The bed was comfortable, and our room had plenty of space, including two little beds up on the mezzanine. Check-in is officially later than at some other places, but on both occasions we arrived outside those hours, once early and once late. He let us use self check-in, which was very straightforward. The breakfast at the fancy café was quite small: a coffee or cappuccino, a glass of water, and one croissant. You'll find toilet paper and soap or shower gel, but no basics like shampoo or conditioner. Our shower head was a little broken, an easy thing to repair.

The location was the strongest part of our stay at Cagliarifornia. It was central, the Wi-Fi and air conditioning worked well, beach umbrellas were available, and the rooms were quiet. The host was around, though not always very friendly, and with self check-in and nobody physically there, we sometimes felt left on our own. We booked 8 days and 7 nights, but the room was dirty when we arrived and the broken bed wasn't fixed until the end, when it was no use to us. Nobody came to clean or replace towels or sheets all week. There was just one roll of toilet paper for four people, so we bought another and left it for the next guests. The room advertised for four felt cramped for anyone but garden gnomes, really more comfortable for two. Breakfast was missing too: there was a coffee machine but no capsules, so it was just decoration. It felt more like a makeshift apartment than a B&B. We left disappointed and wouldn't come back or recommend it unless indoor camping is your thing.

Cagliarifornia is right in the center, and we liked the location, the working air conditioning and Wi-Fi, the beach umbrellas, and the reasonable soundproofing. We couldn't hear much from outside or other rooms. The host was available when needed, though at times came across as arrogant. Since everything runs through self check-in, nobody is there in person to answer questions about the room or the city. Our 8-day, 7-night stay was a letdown. The room was dusty and filthy on arrival, and one of the single beds was broken. It was repaired on the penultimate day, which didn't affect our stay, but it should have been fixed before we arrived or after we left. There was no housekeeping all week. We got one set of towels each at the start, with no changes or cleaning of the room or bathroom. For four people sharing a bathroom for seven days, one roll of toilet paper and no soap or basic toiletries was nowhere near enough. We left a box of toilet paper there for whoever came next. The room was meant for four, but felt too small and uncomfortable for that number, as if it were designed for two. There's a coffee machine but no capsules, and no breakfast. For a place calling itself a B&B, this was neither clear nor what we expected. If breakfast was supposed to mean air and dirt, they could have said so beforehand. The central location doesn't make up for the lack of basic service and care. We wouldn't stay again and can't recommend it.

The breakfast at the partner bar was excellent, though it would've been much easier to get all the vouchers at once instead of asking for them day by day. The mattress was so soft that my back would feel it after two nights, and I think it should be replaced. We chose this B&B because the reviews praised its cleanliness, then stayed for 9 days and found the floors and bathroom poorly cleaned. Towels and sheets weren't changed after five days until we finally asked for fresh towels. The receptionist was rarely around and only available after 9 pm. The guy himself was very kind, but his youth and inexperience may have contributed to how things went. We're disappointed and hope the advice we gave is put to use. To top it off, the receipt wasn't in order!
