Paola served us a lovely breakfast on the terrace, and our room was clean, comfortable, and had TV and air conditioning. We were treated kindly throughout our stay at George King. It's in a great spot near the beach, airport, restaurants, and supermarkets. We had such a warm, authentic Italian experience and would highly recommend it.

The owner was friendly, and our quiet, large room for four had air conditioning, though it felt rather expensive for just two people. The place is quite far from the town center, with only a few pizza restaurants nearby. Don't expect luxury: the bathroom setup wasn't very functional, there was no hot water, and the toilet was noisy. The electrical safety also seemed far from okay, with the boiler wiring above the bath.

The building was run-down, and the stairs to the rooms were awkward, broken, and felt dangerous. We couldn't use the common area unless the owner was home. Our tiny room was tolerable for what we paid, but it was stifling hot, with no AC, and the ceiling fans were so dirty we didn't want to use them. The room wasn't cleaned during our two-night stay. In the shared bathroom, the blind wouldn't go up and the toilet seat was broken and leaking. It was also unclean after another guest had left it in a disgusting state. We'd asked for early check-in, but when we arrived the owner seemed not to remember. We had to wait for a supposed cleaner who never came, and the owner eventually did the cleaning himself. He seemed focused on getting us to leave a good review, despite how poorly he treated us. In reply to his comment, if we hadn't paid in advance through Booking.com, we definitely would have left.

The room was tiny, and the bathroom was even smaller. There was dirty laundry piled on a table in the shared kitchen, and the bedside lamps were missing. The place felt pretty bare and is far from the city center. Breakfast isn't included, which seems useful for future guests to know. In response to the owner's comment, I described the room objectively and glossed over plenty of things, including that there were only two face cloths. Shared areas belong in a review too, just as a hotel lobby does. A negative review should encourage improvements, and calling a room “splendid and sparkling” doesn't help if it isn't. My comments are also in line with several other guests' reviews.
