Pure relaxation....

It's a spacious, shady campsite, with two pools and entertainment for adults and children that doesn't get too intrusive. The bathrooms are clean, and the site is well managed and maintained despite the challenging area. There's a well-stocked market, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Filomena, the campsite owner, is especially kind and attentive to every need. The beach is very close, about a five-minute walk through the pine forest. Lake Varano is nearby too, with a charming dirt path you can explore by bike. The site is dog-friendly and adequately priced, suitable for families and everyone. The area itself is difficult, with limited water, towns a long way away and reachable only by bus with limited routes, or by renting a car or scooter if you don't already have one. The municipality also collects garbage infrequently. That's clearly not the campsite's fault.

The restaurant was worthwhile, with simple but good food and very kind, attentive staff. The entertainment was nice too, five guys doing their best. But after our week there, we wouldn't return. The campsite felt disorganized, the small trees barely gave any shade, and there were mosquitoes, bees, and wasps. They disinfected once without putting up a notice. We only found out by word of mouth and could move our things; other guests weren't so lucky. The pool was closed on the afternoon of August 15th 🤦🏻‍♀️. The bathrooms were always filthy and often didn't work properly. Showers took coins, but the water was almost always either scalding or ice cold. The beach was far from the campsite, offered no services, and couldn't be reached by car. With children, umbrellas, and all the rest, it wasn't workable for us. When we asked reception what there was to see or do, they always said, “There's not much to do here.” When we complained about the dirty bathrooms, they said, “We clean them 4 times a day.”

We came back to this campsite after a wonderful visit last year, and again found the green, simple, relaxing break we needed. Our bungalow looked out over the lawn and was perfect for our child. The beach was uncrowded and less than a 10-minute walk through the pine forest, with the pools just behind the house. We also loved the delicious restaurant food. Everyone on staff was kind and welcoming. The entertainers were fun without being intrusive. We had a wonderful time. Thank you all!
