After a long hike, we arrived at Hotel Costa Dorada later than expected because of a small medical event along the way. Grazia at reception had been concerned and was so helpful and kind, like a distant relative meeting us for the first time and making sure we were comfortable, fed, and looked after. They took us up to our big room with a view as soon as we were ready, and had a dinner table waiting for us. It’s a small, personal hotel with old-world vacation charm that really suits Cala Gonone. Thanks to Grazia and all the staff.

The sea view was well worth it at this lovely locally owned hotel in a great spot in Cala Gonone. The restaurant was fantastic too, and gave us a great chance to try local Sardinian food.

I was very happy with my two-night stay, which was arranged through Adriatic Moto Tours. The staff were friendly and helpful, the gardens were beautifully kept, and I loved greeting the turtles in the ponds whenever I walked past. Breakfast was fresh, and dinner at the hotel was delicious and well priced. The one thing I’ll mention has nothing to do with the hotel: local people rode their motorbikes up the street at 2, 3, and 4am, violently waking me from sleep. Cala Gonone itself is picturesque, peaceful, and beautiful.

Dinner at Hotel Costa Dorado’s restaurant was the best meal I’ve had in years. The service was superb from the moment I arrived, attentive, friendly, and truly top-notch. Every dish was beautifully made and full of flavor, and the restaurant’s atmosphere made the evening memorable. For great food and service, Hotel Costa Dorado’s restaurant is a must-visit. Five stars all the way!

We had a lovely meal here, especially thanks to Nia, such a wonderful host. She speaks English fluently and clearly knows her wine. Her pairing suggestions were great, and she steered us to the right dessert, the apple and custard. She also gave us honest, invaluable tips for our next day’s adventure. We’ll be back to see Nia and try the local vegetarian pasta with mushrooms and saffron.
