Hotel Calabernardo Noto Marina

The Armonia property has a pretty exterior and potential, but the room was already worn in places, with basic furnishings. Dust from construction at the entrance and outside seemed to have spread indoors. I blew on the bedside tables and dust flew off; the floor was disgusting, with cobwebs in the corners. Four of the six towels were dirty, and the sheets had holes, though the bathroom fixtures and the rest of the sheets didn't look especially dirty. We stayed because we only wanted to relax, but it wasn't what we'd hoped for. We had booked a June 7 night at Noto Marina Hotel and Spa through Smartbox back in March. On arrival, we were told it was full and that their policy was to move guests to one of their other properties when that happened. They proposed Calabernardo instead of the place we'd chosen, and we agreed because we trusted them. It was so damp there that we could hardly breathe. The manager suggested opening the windows and switching the air conditioning to dehumidifier mode, but we couldn't last more than ten minutes in the room. We returned to reception and said we would not sleep there. They then offered a "brand new, huge, and beautiful" property. I kept saying size and looks didn't matter to me, cleanliness did. We were told the outside was still somewhat of a construction site, but the work and dust were also at the entrance. The managers own several properties, and given the other reviews, they should do something about this. If they're going to move guests to cheaper places or ones that aren't open yet, they should say so when people book. That way, people know what they're agreeing to. Never again.

We had a great stay, and the beds were comfortable. The rooms felt new and were well looked after, with a roomy bathroom. For a reasonably priced base to explore the area, the value is excellent. The Wi-Fi and TV could use a little maintenance, though.

The upstairs terrace has a heavenly view, and the sunrise and sunset behind it are beautiful. The room was clean and fine, though it felt a bit overpriced without breakfast. The woman who showed us to it was nice. The nearby bar and pizzeria works for a breakfast coffee, and the pizza is okay too. Friendliness could be better 😉 They weren't unfriendly, exactly, but that was about the extent of it.

The food left me disappointed, even though the rest of the experience was positive. Reception and the rooms were excellent, clean, and hygienic, and the services were all fine.
