Luci del Faro

The family who run the hotel are extremely friendly and truly care about their guests, always ready to help. We traveled with our one-year-old toddler, and the chef prepared a special meal every day before the restaurant even opened. The food was very good and the wine excellent. There's a nice swimming pool, and the rooms are basic but clean. The surroundings are beautiful, with nice beaches and a tropical vibe.

The staff are welcoming, the rooms are clean, and the hotel itself is good, with great rooms and terraces on a few of them. We stayed for two nights. If you want to explore the island and San Pietro, take a ferry, I'd recommend having a vehicle. My only complaint was the bed and pillows, which felt too soft to me. Breakfast was good, but depending on how much you eat, you'll need to go back to the buffet two or three times to get a proper portion. Enjoy!

Breakfast felt dated, and the drinks and food seemed old. Fresh orange juice cost €5, while an omelette was €6. Dinner was a letdown too: you had to book a time slot, supposedly to keep the kitchen from getting overwhelmed, even though only 10 rooms were occupied. The food seemed reheated, and the value for money was almost a joke. My fish was lukewarm, with just three small cubes of aubergine, for €16. The hotel itself is quite nice, but the service and housekeeping were unfriendly, with no smiles or kind words. Some things are getting old, especially the outdoor area, and the pool was quite dirty. Towels cost €3. No recommendation from me.

The location is really nice, and the restaurant serves generous portions that work well if you want to have three or four courses. There are lots of local specialties, with a menu that changes every day. The staff were very friendly.
