Hotel Stella Del Sud

We spent two nights here during a mid-June 2022 trip to southwest Sardinia from the U.K. The hotel sits in a quiet spot by the beach, on the edge of Calasetta, and there’s parking on site. It was a lovely base, and I’d recommend staying at least two nights to enjoy the beach, food, and atmosphere. Andrea welcomed us at reception and got us checked in quickly. Our double room was on the first floor, with a lift available. It was spacious, comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. The property is surrounded by bougainvillea, with amazing colours, and has a wonderful pool. Breakfast was a self-service buffet with a good choice of juices, fruit, sweet and savoury food, and attentive service. We ate dinner at the hotel on our first night, with three courses and dessert at a decent price. Drinks cost extra but were very affordable. The beach is only a couple of minutes away on foot. Hotel guests have an assigned beach area where you can rent an umbrella and lounger for a reasonable fee. The beach colours are distinctive, and the team there was very helpful and made sure guests were looked after. The staff were consistently polite and happy to help. We asked for extra pillows, and they brought them straight away. There’s a real sense of teamwork here, more than I’ve seen at most hotels I’ve visited. Andrea handled checkout quickly, and the price was very good value. Thanks to everyone for making our stay so pleasant. We also had a brief chat with the proprietor, a very kind woman who waters some of the hanging and potted plants and helps keep the hotel looking beautiful.
