Villa Fenice

The grounds were so much bigger than we expected, with lots of comfortable places to sit and eat. The pool was fantastic, and the hot tub was just right when the weather cooled. Our children spent hours looking for geckos in the garden and loved playing outside. The villa was immaculate and finished to a high standard. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and there were three bathrooms with showers. Cinzia and Alex were wonderfully welcoming and did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay. One evening, Cinzia cooked us a magnificent Sicilian meal. Every course was delicious, including swordfish rolls and caponata, which we'd never tried before and would happily have again. There were plenty of leftovers, and she brought wine, home-made arancello and limoncello for us to try. Her tiramisu was the best I've ever had. We were lucky enough to see lava flowing down Mount Etna, and the villa views were outstanding. The eruption left black ash and sand all over the grounds. We expected a big cleanup in the morning, but Alex came early every day to tidy, and after the eruption he must have spent hours clearing ash before we even got up. The owners were fantastic and always available to help. We couldn't fault the place and would love to return. We hired a car, which is a must in Sicily, and drove to places like Taormina and Syracuse. I'd highly recommend the villa and its location.

The villa was beautiful, had everything we needed, and came with a great pool and an Etna view. You'll need a hire car, and the road up is in pretty poor shape, so something with good ground clearance would be a good idea.

My family and I spent a week at this wonderful property, just steps from Taormina, and had an incredible time. We were happy with everything it offered, from clean rooms to the staff's courtesy. The lovely pool and the nearby relaxation areas were the highlight. I'll definitely be back very soon. Highly recommended!
