4/10
We couldn’t sleep on nights above 30 degrees because the four-star hotel had no air conditioning or even a fan, and the room was too hot. We’d planned to have a light dinner and taste the Klosterhof wines, but on arrival were told neither was available except on certain days of the week. That surprised us during high season at a wine hotel. The experience felt more like an average family hotel than a major wine destination.

A quiet, pleasant bar and restaurant, with a lovely garden and pool.

We spent four days at the Klosterhof in September 2025, and the staff were incredibly friendly. It has the feel of a well-run family business. Breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of products. We also took a wine tasting and a short cellar tour, and learned a lot about the winery. If we’re in Kaltern again, this is where we’ll stay. Best wishes from Switzerland, Sascha & Nicole Willi

The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast was excellent and very generous. It’s a beautiful winery with a hotel, lovely rooms, and local wood used throughout. We’d love to return.
