Masseria Misocampo With Garden And Pool

This farmhouse is beautifully placed in the middle of Puglia 🌾 It worked really well for a bigger group exploring the area. We were three couples and had lots of room, enjoyed cooking and eating dinner at home, and could easily get to nearby villages. The house was very clean and high tech, with a great laundry room. It isn't fully stocked, but it has the basics. There are cats on the property.

The hosts were quick to respond and had useful tips for things to see nearby. Masseria Misocampo is a lovely old farmhouse, recently renovated with care, keeping its original stone details while adding modern comforts and a great pool. There’s plenty of room for family or friends, with ensuite bathrooms in every bedroom, welcoming indoor and outdoor shared spaces, and a good barbecue. You’ll need a car for the beach or groceries, though both are close. We’d love to come back.

The cats were the hardest part of our stay. Up to six were around all the time, getting into the overflowing rubbish, trying to enter the house, and making outdoor meals nearly impossible. The terrace and cushions smelled of cat urine, and that smell reached the shared sitting room too. We were told they were pets and had flea and worm treatment, but nobody seemed to feed or care for them, and they were covered in ticks. They were friendly, and none of us minded cats, but this would be a problem if you’re allergic. I also had to clean up after them each morning before the children could play outside. The bins were already full when we arrived, even though we booked at the last minute. We stayed for ten days. Both holiday reps said they’d sort it out, but nothing happened, and when we left we were told it wasn’t their responsibility. The kitchen bin is tiny and awkwardly placed, so I kept large recycling bags in the alcove. The place has good shared living space and a decent-sized kitchen, though the island leaves little room when the dishwasher or drawers are open. Other guests said it was well stocked, but for ten people we could have used more, including more than one chopping board and a larger pan. It’s on a main road near some industrial buildings, which I knew before booking; neither turned out to be much of a problem. The location makes it easy to reach the towns, and there’s a good supermarket in Martano, about three minutes away. We visited early in the season, so the pool wasn’t open. In better weather it would be a lovely place to stay, provided the cats don’t spoil your time outdoors.

The owners were courteous and professional, and went out of their way to meet our needs. We felt well looked after throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and tastefully furnished, the bed was very comfortable, and the little details were much appreciated. Each room feels like its own calm, comfortable haven. The masseria was spotless when we arrived, with fresh-smelling rooms, and cleanliness was excellent throughout. We especially loved the pool and the carefully kept garden around it. It was a lovely place to relax in the Salento sun during our summer stay. This masseria is a real gem in the heart of Salento. We’d happily recommend it and definitely return.
