B&B Sotto le Stelle

The town has so much to see and explore, and next time we hope to try the restaurant. B & B Sotto Le Stelle is fabulous in every way. The rooms are gorgeous in this lovely old house, carefully restored with old tiled floors and arched, decorated ceilings, yet they’re comfortable and have all the modern conveniences. Giuseppe is a great host. Thoroughly recommend it.

Our balcony looked out over the Mediterranean, and the view was absolutely stunning. The palazzo has been beautifully renovated and feels luxurious, while still being very reasonably priced. Everything was top quality, from the amenities to the superb attention to detail. The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was a delight. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to return.

The uphill walk to the top of Castello del Conte Luna is worth it for the breathtaking views. The Cathedral and Monastery are worth visiting too. We stayed three nights in this lovely B&B and found our spacious, spotless room had a balcony with a beautiful view over the quiet surroundings. The owner gave us a warm, personal welcome and was incredibly friendly and helpful. He recommended Mates, his family’s restaurant, and it was one of the most delicious meals of our trip. Caltabellotta is a peaceful mountain town off the beaten path, and it turned out to be the surprise highlight of our holiday. It’s a great base for exploring nearby: Torre Salsa Nature Reserve (WWF) is about 40 minutes away, Stair of the Turks 50 minutes, and Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples around an hour. A real hidden gem. We’d happily come back, especially if you’re looking for tranquility and authentic Sicilian charm.

I’d heard so much about this BnB and finally got to stay there. It felt like a dream fulfilled. The location is very central for the places we wanted to visit, and the accommodation was exceptional. We had two extra-large balconies with a great view of the Pizzu, Caltabellotta’s main attraction. Climb over the top and you get a view unlike anywhere else, really unique. Breakfast was much more than the usual coffee, cappuccino, fresh-squeezed orange juice, cornetto, fresh and dried fruit. There was more than we could eat. Giuseppe, who manages the place, is a true gentleman and ready to help in any way. We were very satisfied and happy to have stayed at Sotto. Le Stelle BnB, and recommend it to anyone visiting Caltabellotta. Be sure to visit the fabulous Mates restaurant, run by the Augello brothers, the same family who run the BnB. If you like the BnB, you’ll be even more satisfied after tasting their delicious local food. You’ll want to come back more than once. It’s authentic, mouthwatering food, and you need to experience it to enjoy the taste. I urge you to visit this gem of a town and find out why so many people live to be centenarians in Caltabellotta. It’s because they live Sotto le Stelle, “Under the Stars”.
