The B&B was very good, with big, clean rooms and beautifully kept outdoor areas. The pool was a pleasure to use, and the setting was lovely. What made the stay special, though, was the winery owner. He’s passionate about his wine and good products, and when he saw us heading into town for lunch, he invited us to eat with him and his friends. He shared wonderful cheese, bread, olive oil, and his own excellent wine. He doesn’t speak English well, but he’s such a character that we enjoyed his stories. We got to try several of his wines, all extremely good. It was an amazing time with him and his friends. Come to visit caltagirone, and stay for the experience. The staff don’t speak English, but they’re so nice that you’ll still enjoy your stay. Don’t miss the tasty homemade breakfast on the terrasse.

The estate is beautiful, but we came by chance hoping to try some wines we didn’t know, and weren’t allowed to taste anything because we hadn’t booked. We were just passing through without a plan. A winery with no open bottle feels a bit sad to me. The lady was very kind, though...

At his store on Via Luigi Sturzo in Caltagirone, Mr. Concetto recommended a 2012 magnum. It turned out to be a lovely surprise, a significant wine that really amazed us. The quality for the price is incredible. Concetto is number one.
