BB La Ninfea

The location is the one good thing about this B&B. Our room had clearly been used by another couple before us, but the woman who came in after they left refused to replace the sheets and towels, saying they hadn’t been used. The bathroom is outside the room, and getting to it means crossing a shared room and going up a spiral staircase. I’ve never stayed somewhere so dirty. I believe the positive reviews on Google and Booking.com are fake. Be careful, this place is not for the faint-hearted.

We arrived to find dust in the rooms, stale smells, and kitchen cabinets that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. I even climbed onto a chair to shut a window and saw how dusty the cabinets were, despite the owner saying people had checked out that morning and a cleaner had come. There were dove feathers in my friends’ room, and the bottle of water in ours had already been opened. The towels were old and smelly, too. The bathroom for our room was upstairs, near the terrace, and its tiny space measured about 1m x 1.5m. The shower hose hung loose with no hook, so we had to choose between soaping up and rinsing off. The sink was tiny as well. The arrangements were odd from the start. After I contacted the owner by phone, she asked me to pay by bank transfer right away. She left the keys in a small box and asked us to put the money there, then her daughter came to collect it half an hour after we arrived. I strongly advise against this place. It ruined our stay. Never again.

We wouldn’t recommend this place. The welcome was awful, and the whole house looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, maybe years. The floors stayed wet because renovations were apparently underway, and the closets were dusty even though the owner kept saying she’d arranged for cleaning before we arrived. The bathroom was bad and stuffy. The balcony was a mess too, with rusty things, a filthy table and chairs, and very old cigarette butts. We also had to share the kitchen and bathroom with other people.

The mattress had yellow stains, and the terrace and its furniture were dirty. The woman was very friendly, but seemed not to understand what clean meant. The shower head was broken, and the listed kettle, clothes rack, mosquito net, iron, and dressing room weren’t there. Noise came through because the windows weren’t soundproof. The room is rented out, and another guest would have to pass through the private kitchen, which is open to everyone. This is impossible to justify. Beware of rip-offs, the place is filthy.
