We had such a lovely stay. The family welcomed us with incredible kindness and thoughtfulness, thank you Carla, Valentina and family. We’ll be back! The villa feels like a dreamy slice of Sicilian history, with a huge garden and a terrace that’s made for warm dinners and unwinding. It was a treat to have a whole palace to ourselves. Three couples or families could stay comfortably, with nicely furnished rooms, good beds and practical bathrooms. There’s a clean shared pool about a four minute drive away, great for kids, plus some good playgrounds nearby. You’ll need a car. Caltagirone is also close to lots of interesting sights and some excellent restaurants, including la Casa degli Angeli, which we loved.

The house is lovely and well cared for, with roomy bedrooms that have air conditioning and a really big living room downstairs where you can light a fire. Outside, there’s a spacious garden full of trees. Caltagirone itself is worth spending a few days in, and there are other nearby towns to explore or a beach trip to take. It’s centrally placed in Sicily, so with a car you can use it as a base to see a lot of the island. Recommended for all its amenities.
