Hotel Erbaluce

It’s a useful base for getting around the area, with a large parking lot. Rooms at the back look out over a field and are fairly quiet, though the rooms themselves are very basic and have few facilities. Breakfast was poor and very limited. We never got to try the restaurant: one evening a private dinner had taken over the dining room, another time it was closed, and we later found very good places to eat in the nearby town.

The staff were friendly, and the meal we had was tasty and nicely cooked, even though the restaurant menu is short. Rooms were clean, but the beds felt very hard. There’s a small fridge and air conditioning, though not much else in the room, no tea or coffee, iron, or trouser press. I’d stay here again if I were in the area.

Sardi’s Erbaluce Hotel is a distinctive, cozy place with a good restaurant and bar. It’s a lovely spot in the Piemonte region if you want to get away from the busy, cluttered feel of city life and unwind in the Canavese.

We had a terrible night here, and the problems started as soon as we entered the room, where a cobweb was hanging from the lightbulb. The shower enclosure and a window were broken, and light came through the window at night. Noise and music from other rooms carried on until 1:30 a.m. Staff were unpleasant and unprofessional. I never saw staff or other guests wearing masks, and there were no Covid measures at all. Breakfast was poor. I’d tell people to stay somewhere else.
