A quiet spot, with nice people and a good room.

The food was simple and traditional, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We stopped for lunch today and felt at ease right away. The farmhouse is especially welcoming, with distinctive, well-kept furnishings dating from the early 1900s and a lovely big stone fireplace that gives it a family feel. A good choice if you're after somewhere peaceful and authentic.

Our two-year-old loved watching the horses wander around, along with the dog, cat, and birds. She also had fun digging in the dirt with her hands, finding pebbles, flowers, and chestnuts. We stayed for Valentine's Day weekend, just an hour from home, and it was a real pause from everyday busyness. The farmhouse sits among lots of trees, and the calm, natural setting was a big part of the appeal. The food was tasty, simple, and authentic. The rooms, shared spaces, and grounds were clean and well looked after. Everyone was welcoming, kind, and attentive without hovering. We had two special days here and will definitely come back, either on our own or with friends.

The quiet setting in a chestnut grove was lovely, and the outdoor area had charming wooden features, including a swing and a gorgeous tree at the end of the path. The person running the place was kind from the time we booked. There was no air conditioning, though our day was cool. We booked two rooms upstairs in the farmhouse. One had a double bed and a single, but the double was made up of two single mattresses. I found it uncomfortable, especially because the mattress was too soft for me. Breakfast was included, but there was no buffet or food already set out. They brought what they chose, and it was meager. The room door creaked badly, the bathroom door caught underneath, and there were hardly any toiletries. A little Svitol might sort the creaking door. Some maintenance and attention to these details would help.
