After a tough uphill walk on the Via Francigena in scorching heat, spending the afternoon by the pool was just what we needed. Our hostess Caterina was so welcoming, and after a lovely night's sleep she gave us an amazing breakfast. The view down the valley was spectacular, with a good bar and a lovely restaurant close by. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

A great place for a peaceful break without being far from what you need. There are two excellent restaurants just a two-minute walk away, and the towns are about a 20-minute drive. The rooms are really comfortable, the pool is great, and everything is provided. The host is a lovely, friendly and helpful lady. Thanks for a wonderful stay, and a special mention to Bianca, one of the resident cats.

The setting is wonderful, with views over the Tuscan hills and a little village with a couple of bars and restaurants only a few minutes' walk away. We stayed at La Casa di Alice for a brilliant weekend. Stefano and Caterina were warm, welcoming and great fun. Our room was spacious, with a lovely bathroom and a very comfortable bed, plus a terrace overlooking the pool. Breakfast came with delicious homemade cakes and cheesecake. The WiFi was free, fast and reliable for the whole weekend. We’ll definitely be back, thanks!

I loved spending time here this summer and hope I can return in the years ahead. The host was wonderful, and the place itself is lovely. Parking was easy with a car, eateries nearby were within walking distance, and cyclists have a great route right there. There’s plenty to explore in every direction, including Lucca, Viareggio, Camiore, and Pietrasanta, each with its own history and character. Starting the morning with an espresso and that amazing view was a pleasure.
