Badia Giulia Prestigious Historical B&B

We chose Badia Giulia for a last-minute trip after looking at several places nearby, and its small, plain-looking doorway gave way to a really magical setting. Our hosts greeted us warmly, shared some history of the building, showed us the gardens and the lovely breakfast spot overlooking the mountain range. With just 6 rooms, it felt intimate, and the coast is only a short drive away, making it a handy base for exploring. The room was a huge surprise at 70 square metres, with a big lounge, sofas, a mini bar, a very comfortable bed, and plenty of storage. There was a large double shower in the bathroom and a separate bath in the bedroom area, along with nice soft touches, artwork, and sculptures. Breakfast was superb: fresh homemade cold options each day, plus hot dishes to order. Coffee and daily spirits were available around the clock. We also found a small local restaurant a 1 min walk up the road with a great menu of excellent pizza, fresh seafood, and steak. Dinner can be ordered at the B&B in advance, as can spa treatments, though I didn’t get to try those. We had a wonderful stay and would happily book Badia Giulia again.

The hosts were perfect, and the garden was quiet and pleasant. Our room was wonderful, with a sauna and vapor shower, and there was parking nearby plus free coffee. We’re heading to breakfast now, so I can’t comment on it yet, but I’m sure it’ll be good.

We had a fantastic stay at this luxury bed and breakfast in May 2024. Giulia and her husband, the owners, welcomed us warmly in their beautiful garden with cool drinks after our long drive from Nice. They answered our questions, told us about the area, and showed us around the estate and our room. The room was beautiful and modern, with all the amenities we could want, including a well-stocked mini-bar. Breakfast was out of this world, full of homemade local treats, and served beneath a vine pergola in the lovely garden. Flowers and herbs grow all around, and I loved wandering among them and taking in their scents. We also had a great hike in the beautiful mountains and ended up at Bar Alimentari, where we ate delicious locally produced food while looking out over the spectacular green mountains. The Badia Giulia owners were extremely helpful and attentive whenever we had a question or need. Guilia even phoned a local olive oil maker for us so we could buy some of the area's liquid gold. If you get the chance to stay here, take it!

The room was stunning, blending the monastery’s traditional features with modern design. We had an amazing weekend, and the couple who run the hotel were helpful with local recommendations and our dietary requirements. Lovely restaurants are nearby, while the mountains and sea are 10mins away. We’ll definitely come back.
